We stayed in Pittsburgh Sunday May 20, after the weekend we had, we decided we owed ourselves a good time. Like the weekend, wasn't good anyhow, but we had been totally bummed about a bunch of stuff, so we headed to Shadyside 'cause we knew NIJ was playing there. So we arrived in Shadyside, sometime after check out time (which was about 12). So driving in the awful rental car, we got to Shadyside and parked in a parking garage. The parking garage though was on the other side of Shadyside. So we did some shopping, mom got money out of the ATM, and we all headed to the other part of Shadyside. NIJ didn't play until about 3 and so we had quite a bit of time to spend just kicking around. We had lunch in a deli like bagel shop, and did some browsing through the stores. WE loved the antique stores, and the vintage clothing stores, and all the little artsy botiques. At around 2 we headed to where all the bands were playing. We sat through this one band, and saw NIJ just putzin' around in the back. Mom, Gwen, Alex, and I were all makin' jokes about the band that was on. So, after the band was done we took some front rows seats, and waited for NIJ to play. Mike spotted us, and he came over to talk. We told him about the car accident, and that we decided to just hang around anyhow. They took the stage, and we had much fun watching them perform. It was so great to see them for one last time. After they were done we said good bye to everyone. We told Mike how amazing his guitar playing was, and Alex got yet another pic from him, since she left the one from X-Fest in the car which was in some garage in downtown Pittsburgh. That was the last time we may ever see NIJ. They are an amazing band, and I'm gonna miss them more than I will miss anyone from Harrisburg. |
