On May 19, 2001 I was in Pittsburgh and off to see Miss Fortune at Nick's Fat City when we called, we found out Miss Fortune wasn't playing due to the fact that Ryan blew his voice. So, I was totally bummed. Despite the fact that Miss Fortune wasn't playing we headed out anyhow. I knew it'd be a long night, since I was already being weird in the hotel. We arrived at Nick's at about 8:30 and headed inside. We were headed upstairs to sit and eat when Jen stopped us. Jen is our web buddy who also loves grapevine. So we ended sitting with her and her mommy next to the stage. So, we chatted for a while with Jen, and she introduced us to her mom, and the one guy, Cody, from Sporting Woodrow. Alex decided that she wanted to get guitar pics from most of the guys in the bands, and off she went to accomplish it. So the first band Alex went to was Mercury. Actually it was only Justin (lead vocals), and whomever else was standing there. Well, she was talking to him, and whatever she said prompted him to decided he'd come over and talk to all of us. After they took a trip to StarBucks, he came over, and talked with all of us. While he was over with us, I was being totally dorky (though most people say how is that different form any other day). I guess I was more dorky than usual, and it was because I had had one of those weekends. Justin was really sweet, and nice, so it made it easy to talk to him. We took a picture togehter, and he went off to play. They played a long set, and made Miss Fortune not being there seem okay. Check out their website, and download some of there music: |
