X-Fest began as a crazy Friday on May 18, 2001. We left Harrisburg around about 6:30 A.M. to get to Burgettstown (which is half an hour outside Pittsburgh). We arrived at around 11:30 and the parking didn't open until about 1:30 and the gates didn't open 'til about 2:30. After being hassled, we finally got inside. After arriving inside we began to walk around trying to find the stage on which New Invisible Joy (NIJ) was playing. The first place we saw was 105.9 the X's tent. Inside doing an on air interview was Eve 6 we all (including mom) were flipping out. We took some pics (last row) of them and they waved to us. It was fun. We then left in pursuit of finding the stage. There was rain in the forecast but in the begining it was nice and sunny. It began to get cloudier as we watched New Invisble Joy play. It then began to drizzle as we were waiting to talk to Mike, John, Brian, and Evan. After hanging out with NIJ, and taking pics (middle row), we headed over the hill to catch some of the other acts. We got to see Train play, and the Clarks. Alex and I (Logan) decided to head out with the camera in hand and see what musicians we might find just wandering around. We had seen the lead singer of Disturbed and tried to get a pic, but he ended up being escorted away by security. So off we went anyhow, and ended up meeting the lead singer and guirtarist of Slaiva. After them signing our jeans, and putting our knee in their crotch we took some pics (first row). All in all it was a great day, despite the rain, and the car accident on the way home. We had tons of fun, and enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to NIJ for playing and 105.9 the X for having it. | ||||||||||||||||
